AllerSpot®: 72 specific IgE screening test

Screening criteria for the 72 allergens are based on rigorous scientific studies and environmental research on various factors affecting the prevalence rates of allergies in Taiwan. Based on this information, EBS has identified the most common allergens that are inhaled or ingested by companion animals.

Advanced Testing Capabilities:Fast, accurate results reveal which allergens could trigger allergic reactions, enabling pet owners to: 1. Choose suitable pet food; 2. identify causes of allergies in the environment; and 3. select appropriate allergy treatments.

Convenient Sample Collection:Regardless of your pet's size and age, only 1–2 ml of whole blood (or more than 0.2 ml of serum/plasma) is needed for testing.

Fast Results:A comprehensive and informative report is delivered in just 5 business days.

Valuable Information:The report clearly identifies the risk of allergic reactions for individual allergens. Suggestions and other helpful information about popular pet food brands are also provided in the “Food Recommendation List” so that pet owners can make better-informed decisions when choosing what to feed their pets, and avoid allergies.

Conventional testing methods use the intradermal skin test. However, this procedure must be overseen by a professional, as it involves complex techniques and medical observation. Intradermal skin tests may pose the risk of experiencing anaphylactic shock. This is why the preferred method utilized today is blood testing for the allergen-specific antibody Immunoglobulin E (IgE).

EBS uses the FLISA platform to provide allergy testing for pets. Based on the geographical prevalence of allergens in in a localized enviornment, EBS has developed biochips which detect the 62 most common allergens that affect dogs and cats. Utilizing protein purification and specialized biochip manufacturing techniques, allergen proteins are spotted onto the glass slide in an array which miniaturizes the test, reducing waste and improving the accuracy and efficiency of allergy testing. EBS has decreased the overall turn-around time of processing the samples, and can provide half-quantitative analysis for interpretation by veterinarians and pet owners. Only a small volume of serum  is required for this one-step testing method -  very convenient while saving both time and money! Knowing which allergens pose a high for your dog or cat, can give you peace of mind while improving the overall health condition of your companion animals.
