Lateral Flow- SP Type O Ab
The predominant circulating serotype of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) is Type O. Although some Type A and Asia 1 strains also exist, Type O remains the most common and highly contagious. As a result, eliciting a strong immune response against Type O is essential for the development of DIVA vaccines and the assessment of immune protection.
Following vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease, animals generate antibodies against viral structural proteins, particularly SP Type O antibodies. These antibodies play a crucial role in neutralizing Type O viruses and reducing the risk of infection. Therefore, measuring SP Type O antibody titers serves as a key indicator for evaluating the protective efficacy of the vaccine.
